ABOUTUS
The SEIU Asian Pacific Islander (API) Caucus aims to collaborate with community organizations to address the social, economic, environmental, immigration, housing, working conditions, health, and other issues impacting our API communities. We are committed to identifying and developing activists and leaders—both in the labor movement and in our communities.
Being an API member in Canada or the U.S. can sometimes feel isolating. You might not have seen yourself in leadership. You may not have always felt seen or understood. But you can find a home with us.
We believe in you. We see you. And most importantly, you belong.
Welcome home.
Become a member today to help empower and unite API members across SEIU. Together, we will build the power to achieve a more just society, and organize to dismantle the barriers that threaten our communitiesusing the SEIU Path Forward as our guide.

LATEST NEWS
SEIU API Caucus members are proud voices at the forefront of the fight for justice in our communities.
Kandie Luo, SEIU Local 775
“Our union is strong because we help each other find our voice. As API, we want to say what we’re fighting for loudly, but some of us have language barriers. I learned English, but that shouldn't be the only way to have a voice. So it’s important to me that we support and lean on each other to make sure we’re heard.”
Andrew Manibusan, SEIU Local 392
“In my work, I’ve experienced moments where being Chamorro meant being overlooked or dismissed, but I also found strength in speaking up and building trust through authenticity and cultural pride. Every day, I encourage all of us to stand together for safety, respect, and the dignity every person deserves.”
Seema Kanani, SEIU UHW
Instead of being unheard, flying under the radar, and not making waves, I owe it to our AAPI community to empower others to raise their voices. I have always been known in my family as being outspoken, not knowing "my place" and carried that mindset to my work. Being a leader in SEIU-UHW’s historic strike helped me embrace the power of visibility, pride, and leadership within our AAPI community.
